Choosing a Mains AdapterTo select the correct Mains Adapter you will need to know the Voltage and Current requirements of your device. If you don't have the instruction manual the info is usually marked near the power socket.
Voltage will be marked as 'Voltage', 'Volts' or 'V', for example 5V. Current will usually be marked as 'milliamps' (1000 milliamps = 1 Amp), 'mA', Amps' or 'A', for example 800mA.
There are only 3 things to check to make the correct selection.- The Mains Adapter must be able supply the same voltage as that required by your device, a small variation of around 5% is usually permissible so don't worry if there isn't an exact match.
- The Mains Adapter must be able supply at least as much current (more is fine) as your device needs at the appropriate voltage.
- There is an an appropriate plug supplied with the Mains Adapter to suit your device.
