This battery is a low cost NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride) type. NiMh batteries are capable of outperforming most other type of rechargeable in the same physical size. Environmentally friendly (they don't contain the toxic metals Lead, Mercury or Cadmium found in other types of rechargeable battery), NiMh batteries are ideally suited for repetitive high drain use and don't suffer from the 'memory effect' associated with some NiCd types. Treated properly they are capable of being recharged up to 1000 times.
